General lifespan of a vehicle wrap is 5-7 years. The lifespan of a wrap can depend on your region, care given to your vehicle, and other factors.
Hand washing with mild soap and water is recommended, avoiding harsh chemicals or pressure washing, which can damage the wrap. Use a soft sponge or cloth to gently clean the surface, and always dry the wrap thoroughly to prevent water spots. Avoid waxing or polishing the wrap, as this can degrade the vinyl’s finish.
Taking a vinyl-wrapped car through an automatic car wash is not recommended, as it can potentially damage the wrap and void your installation warranty. The harsh brushes and abrasive chemicals used in many car washes can cause the vinyl to lift, tear, or fade over time. Even touchless car washes can apply high-pressure water that might compromise the edges of the wrap. To preserve your wrap and maintain the warranty, it's best to hand wash your vehicle using mild soap and water, ensuring a gentle and thorough clean without risking damage.
When installed on factory paint free of imperfections and removed within its general lifespan, the wrap helps preserve your vehicle’s paint and leaves no residue when professionally removed. While most wraps are designed to last 5–7 years, hood and roof wraps are generally recommended for replacement after two years to minimize difficult or costly removal.
